Wish List

Today I have been catching up with my favourite blog:

the best craft and kitsch blog ever. Tonnes of great ideas, lovely photos and yummy food!

I also have an amazon gift voucher and I can't decide which of the amazing books from my wishlist I should buy!

here is a selection:

Does anyone have any of these books to recommend?

The Seventies style book got a really good review and said it has lovely pictures which is always great. But I do love a craft book, I'm leaning towards 'Playing with books' it looks incredible, reminds me of the work of Brian Dettmer.Photobucket(page from the book)Photobucket(a book autopsy by Brian Dettmer)
I know the AranziAronzo Fun Dolls is a good book becuase I bought it for a friend. The last thing I really need is more books on making felt animals.....however I freakin LOVE them!

Speaking of craft, I made this for my mum so she doesnt miss Gerty (see previous post) too much

cluck cluck.

A good Chicken was lost today.

poor Gerty got killed by a fox this morning :(

Embracing the Nord

Im sure since the arrival of Ikea everyone has a piece of scandinavia in their home whether it be a corkscrew or a whole kitchen.

I love the simplicity and ingenious designs and while I dont like having the same sofa as half the nation - the world maybe, it is clear why the influences of the nordic countries are so popular.

I am trying to add a touch of this to my new home, the flat itself (especially the kitchen) does remind me of a chalet in the mountains and as long as I dont look out the window I can keep up this fantasy for a good few hours.

I have been trawling charity shops, ebay and websites in general for pieces to put in my home. Taking inspiration from my flat, books and places I have been which have already sucessfully created spaces I lust after.

here are my mood boards
I am determined to get a stags head or antlers for my wall, (sorry vegetarians and animal rights activists) but I would settle for a fake if such a thing exists!
I really love Orla Kiely products the patterns and colours really are retro, you can buy her collection from John Lewis and I did see some bits on ebay but not cheap!

And how could I not include a few moomin pieces in there!

I have just started using Clinique anti-blemish solutions foundation and I am impressed! It feels light on the skin and has a good even coverage. It also doesnt slide off my face half way through the day like other foundations I have tried.

thought I should let you know :)

millionaire shortbread yum!

testing out the oven in my new pad.
the shortbread turned out great, doesnt half give you a sugar rush though, had to invite friends over to help us eat it!

I did find a celery and onion pot on ebay, and here they are in my new kitchen!

I also got this amazing coffeepot in a local charity shop, its made by sadler and cost me a resonable £5.Photobucket
